> Supporting Parents and Carers

Our experienced Support Workers can work one-to-one with you to pass on skills with dealing with your child’s behaviour.  Using recognised positive behavioural techniques and advice from evidence based parenting programmes, FAST will help personalise and tailor the strategies to your family and household.  We can provide help and support behind the scenes or be there to support you when the behaviour is actually happening.


Home Based  We can support parents at home to make small changes to improve your child’s behaviour.  This may involve a particular behaviour or focussing on a particular time of day, adjusting routines, boundary setting or suggesting different ways of tackling something.  This support is particularly useful for bedtimes, before school or at mealtimes.

Community Based  FAST recognises that parents sometimes require support with dealing with their child’s behaviour out in the community, maybe shopping, at the park or attending appointments.  When your child knows they have an audience or can embarrass parents into giving in.  Our Support Workers can assist with building confidence in taking your child out, providing advice and being there as back up to help parents when you are out.  We can also support parents to access facilities in the community without their child, if they are anxious or lacking confidence, we can be a friendly support to help attending meetings, appointments or getting help from other services such as Citizens Advice or the Job Centre.

All of our prices are inclusive of mileage and staff expenses (within Teignbridge, Torbay & South Hams).
Families are responsible for paying for their own child’s expenses, such as admission costs, refreshments and public transport travel costs.

Discounts available for shifts lasting longer than 3 hours and for multiple members of staff.
